Overview

Post Trade Automation (PTA) provides automated trade allocation and booking, settlement processing, reporting systems (to support the Investment Bank at Deutsche Bank), and has presence across the globe and operates a follow-the-sun model. You will work on a large number of initiatives enhancing the capabilities of the PTA platform for existing production purposes or building out new functionalities aimed at supporting the Business. As a Senior Engineer, you will be working on troubleshooting, enhancing, or creating new data ingestion components, processing components, storage, and distribution components. You’ll participate in the full software development lifecycle – including business requirements analysis, solution design, prototyping and development, testing and product ionization of the developed software into the Bank’s highly secured and high-performance production system.

What You’ll Do

  • Work as part of a delivery team, collaborating with others to understand and capture requirements, analyze, and refine stories, design solutions, implement them, test them, and support them in production

  • Design and develop excellent and understandable server-side code. Work closely with users to gain feedback and ensure they are fit for purpose

  • Use behavior driven development or design techniques, collaborating closely with users, analysts, developers, and other testers, and make sure we are building the right thing

  • Write code and write it well, be proud to call yourself a programmer, use test driven development, write clean code, and refactor constantly, and make sure we are building the thing right

  • Define and evolve the architecture of the components you are working on. Contribute to architectural decisions at a department and bank-wide level, while ensuring that the software you build is reliable and easy to support in production. Be prepared to take your turn on call providing 3rd line support when it’s needed

  • Help your team build, test and release software with the short lead times and a minimum of waste. Work to develop and maintain a highly automated Continuous Delivery pipeline, as well as help create a culture of learning and continuous improvement within your team and beyond

Skills You’ll Need

  • Extensive experience in Java programming, with expertise in Spring frameworks like Spring boot, Hibernate, RESTful Web Services, and Microservices

  • Experience with Test Driven Development and Behavior Driven Development, with hands-on experience with least one testing framework: Junit, Cucumber, Selenium

  • Experience with Maven, Gradle, TeamCity, Jenkins, Git, and messaging services, such as Kafka/MQ/Solace

  • Experience with oracle database objects and ability to write Structured Query Language queries

  • Practical experience of test-driven development or des
