Job Description Qualifications:

BDS Phantom Works Engineering is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated engineering leader to fill an Electronic and Electrical Engineering Signature Team Lead position located in St. Louis, MO.   

Survivability Team Lead for proprietary program is responsible for all Low Observable (LO) related program activities.

The Team Lead is responsible for performance of the survivability IPT, cost and schedule, as well as participates in weekly program management meetings (PMM)and program control boards (PCB) and demonstrates excellent working relationship with fellow Boeing teammates and customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical leadership to a team of signature engineers for executing all program work scope associated with signature design, integration, analysis, test, and nonconformance disposition of all signature material systems.

  • Provide oversite to Signature and Material RM&S Reliability and Maintainability Integration Statements of Work (SOW) CDRL deliverables.

  • Support the creation of technical data package summarizing Infrared (IR) and Radio Frequency (RF) signature testing and analysis.

  • Review signature analysis and data products produced by team.

  • Answer signature related questions from government stakeholders.

  • Maintain configuration control of signature models, treatments, and data products.

  • Supporting all program activities including design reviews, drawing release, manufacturing coordination, and supplier coordination.

  • Support meetings Test Plan Working Groups (TPWG), Design reviews, Program Management Meeting (PMM), Program Control Board (PCB), etc.

  • Update/initiate flight test manuals, Design Decision Memos (DDM), RISK, issues, & Opportunities (RIO), and Change Control Sheets (CCS).

  • Support Signature data product release process to generate technical and programmatic presentations as requested to support program presentation requirements.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position. This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering, math, computer science, physics or other technical discipline

  • 10+ years experience in detailed low observable design, integration, fabrication, and test

  • 10+ years experience in working with classified technologies and programs

  • Experience in advising and directing engineering teams to meet technical objectives and technical or operational problem resolution

  • Experience planning, organizing and directing RF aperture design, analysis, integration, and test task

  • Experience supporting/directing rapid prototype/demonstration programs

  • Experience communicating successfully across IPTs and program management

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
