About the role

Provides leadership on key IT projects and strategic initiatives within the company. Develops project plans and leads a cross functional team to ensure all elements of the project are on track, while utilizing project management tools. Responsible for timeline development and milestone management. Responsible for effective communication of project status to senior management and/or key stakeholders.

  • Responsible for the strategic development and implementation of IT critical initiatives and projects which include creating projects from the ground up identifying project goals, strategies, timelines, KPIs, process improvements, cost reductions and efficiency gains accomplished by utilizing analytical tools, workflow automation and project management discipline. Effectively convey project goals and objectives clearly and in a compelling manner. Effectively listens and clarifies information as needed.
  • Organize and ensure consistent management of all phases of IT projects to ensure high quality delivery of IT projects, including monitoring progress and maintaining regular communication with stakeholders and project team. Drive project leadership by reporting the project health to senior management and/or key stakeholders. Ensure that project status, issues, and successes are documented and communicated. Creates status reports, budget reconciliation and shares key project information to key stakeholders.
  • Effectively leads and facilitates project team meetings and acts as a coach, helping the team to execute the process and remove their own roadblocks. Provide clear team communication and expectations including background, deliverables, and key milestones. Keep projects moving toward completion by escalating decision points, proactively flagging issues, and problem solving. Define and trace requirements through to testing and implementation.
  • Strategically think beyond the project plan constantly questioning how to add value and how to improve the project. Conduct strategic analysis to provide input for decision-making to identify opportunities for improvement and to make recommendations. Critically evaluate project and quality measures and assess postproject to determine results and convert lessons learned into further process improvements.
  • Recognize project issues and elevate them to the appropriate project team members with proactive, well-considered solutions. Addresses delicate situations and handle conflict in such a way as to maximize opportunity and minimize exposure to risk. Manage multiple projects and companies’ top IT critical initiatives. Manage projects to budget. Ensures time and resources are aligned to budget and all associated external costs are managed effectively.
  • Develop, champion, and communicate best practices in project and process management to effectively deliver against strategic and financial plans.
  • Effectively collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure deliverables are completed to meet established timelines.

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field. PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification preferred.
  • 5-7 years direct project management experience with IT application project implementations.
  • Knowledge: Project Management Methodology related to IT processes. MS Project and other standard tools for managing project lifecycle. Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Skills: Strong project management skills. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills – verbal and written with business partners, teams and all levels of management.
  • Abilities: Ability to lead and influence. Independent follow-through ability (attention to detail, monitoring and controlling). Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities in either a direct management role or mentoring role.
