Job Title: LTC Admissions and Financial Clerk
Department: Business Office
Reports To: Business Office Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Hours: 20/week
Shift: Monday–Friday, 1 p.m.–5 p.m.

WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR FCMC
Our LTC Admissions and Financial Clerk assists patients in the admission process and helps them with payment. More specifically, some of these responsibilities include:
- For incoming patients, inquiring about demographics, emergency contacts, attending physician, and the individual or insurance company responsible for bill payment
- Entering patient admitting information into computer and sends printed copy to the designated department
- Obtaining insurance authorization and verifying coverage
- Answering incoming calls and directing calls to the correct destination
- Coordinating admission, transfer, or discharge of patients
- Explaining hospital regulations, such as visiting hours, privacy policy, payment of accounts, and schedule of charges
- Managing private pay and share cost collections
- Assisting patients and families with applications to Medicaid and Medicare, and coordinating with Financial Counselor for patients to receive assistance
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1-2 years of billing experience
- Additional training in accounting or the medical field is preferred
- A valid driver license and clean driving record required
- Because this position occasionally requires you to drive, we ask that all applicants be at least 25 years of age for insurance purposes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in the English language
- Attention to detail, ability to handle many tasks at once, and ability to follow through
- Excellent organization, time management, and analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Proficiency in faxing, emailing, and Google Suites
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn our electronic medical record, medical equipment, and other technologies
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures, and perform some statistical analysis
Essential Job Functions:
- Regular and predictable attendance is required
- Regularly required to sit, bend, stoop, and stretch
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment
- Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports
- Frequently able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
- This job involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
