Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a specialized area; or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experienceResponsibilities for this Position
What you will be doing
- Support engineering development and maintenance of programs
- Linux system administration
- Network equipment (primarily Cisco) setup and maintenance
- Design and implementation of cybersecurity solutions
- Works well in a team, can accept direction and constructive criticism
- Independently identifies tasks or projects that need to be done and effectively prioritizes time to complete multiple assignments
- Conducts project planning, cost analysis and vendor comparisons
- Willingness to support both domestic and international travel up to 10%
- Holds ownership by identifying alternatives in the midst of barriers to progress
- Supports continuous improvement initiative
What we would like you to bring to the table (skills, knowledge, and experience)
- Experienced in Linux System Administrator for small/medium size networks
- Understanding of vulnerability and compliance scanning, analysis of the scan results, and security patching specifically for the DoD
- Working knowledge of Linux hardening
- Familiarity with cyber security specifications such as Risk Management Framework (RMF), STIGs, and other government security specifications and guidelines.
- Network architecture and the application of network setup (LAN, NICs, Router Configurations)
- Experienced in Cisco equipment for small/medium size networks
- Hands-on experience setting up networks, including servers, network infrastructure equipment, and network end devices
- Ability to work alone or in a team environment
- Demonstrates ability to move into new teams and quickly learn project defined specific process while applying past knowledge and experience
- Proven documentation skills and technical writing
- Communicating technical information clearly so that it may be understood by a non-technical individual
Preferred experience and certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a specialized area or equivalent relevant experience is required; plus, a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Linux system administration, RHCSA a bonus
- Network+/Security+ or equivalent experience, CISSP a bonus
- Cisco experience, CCNP a bonus
- Experience with general network administration, Server+/Linux+ a bonus
