Job Overview

Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of warehouse personnel, including inventory control, shipping, and receiving, and material handling.  The Supervisor oversees inventory levels, monitors the safety of its people and goods, ensures the efficient usage of warehouse space. This role leads 20+ employees. The Warehouse Supervisor will report to the Materials Manager and coordinate with manufacturing to ensure material is available for production and ensures accurate inventory levels through efficient inventory management practices. Will interface with the procurement team for gathering latest delivery dates on material shortages. Responsibilities include assigning daily job responsibilities to warehouse personnel; managing material and company equipment to meet the customers’ specifications; training and developing employees to enhance quality and efficiency; coordinating with other supervisors to assign resources based on production priorities; and adhering to PCX’s company safety policies.  

A Day In The Life

  • Move inventory by scheduling materials to be moved to and from warehouse, coordinating inventory transfers with manufacturing departments.
  • Deliver supplies and equipment to departments by receiving and transferring items.
  • Maintain storage area by organizing floor space for customer supplied equipment; adhering to storage design and 5S principles; recommending improvements.
  • Maintain inventory by conducting physical counts, cycle counting; reconciling variances; inputting data.
  • Perform administrative or logistical management duties in support of warehouse operation, including reconciliation of cycle count disparities, analysis of purchase orders vs. inventory received, job scheduling, inventory logistics, receiving reports, audits, etc.
  • Communicate with Production supervisors/team leads on materials shortages and their expected delivery dates.
  • Monitor workflow, work completed, error rates and related metrics and take corrective action.
  • Ensure procedures are observed, implemented, and enforced.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • 3 to 5 years of Supervision experience in a non-union environment
  • 1 to 3 years of warehouse or inventory control experience – computer literate key
  • Organizational skills/techniques of stockroom/warehouse
  • Kanban/order point system experience
  • Value stream workflow experience, both stockroom and warehouse
  • Experience in ERP system implementation and operation a must. SAP experience preferred.
  • Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and specifications.
