<p><u><b>Summary</b></u></p><p><u><b>Job Description:</b></u></p><p><b>Imaging - Radiological Technologist</b></p><p><b>FULL TIME - DAYS/1ST SHIFT</b></p><p>While Radiology and Ultrasound are both imaging departments within the hospital, they utilize different technologies and serve distinct diagnostic purposes.  The Radiology department encompasses a broad range of imaging techniques that use different forms of radiation or electromagnetic waves to visualize the internal structures of the body. X-Ray, CT scan, MRIx</p><p></p><p><b><u>Job Description:</u></b></p><p>A radiology technician, also known as a radiologic technologist, plays a crucial role in a hospital setting by assisting in diagnosing and treating patients through the use of medical imaging techniques. Operates x-ray equipment safely and performs all the tasks of patient services using imaging modalities, under direction of Director of Radiology and Radiologist.</p><ul><li>Executes ionizing radiation to patients to take x-ray images in the safest manner possible.</li><li>Prepares room, equipment, and materials as needed for patients daily.</li><li>Participates in CQI activities and provides input for improvement.</li><li>Provides directions to patients regarding radiologic exams. Provides education to patients regarding their ordered exams.</li><li>Cleans and disinfects x-ray room and equipment after each exam.</li><li>Maintains adequate and proper records.</li><li>Prepares barium and other chemical mixtures for x-rays.</li><li>Must pass initial competency test and yearly competency testing thereafter.</li><li>Will assume other duties applicable to the operation of the Radiology Department as needed.
