Air & Space Defense Systems is seeking a self-motivated Principal Specialist, Contracts who excels in a fast-paced environment and can serve as the primary customer interface on contractual matters. This individual will oversee the contract management and support of multiple programs and pursuit opportunities, focusing on U.S. Government contracts, within the Specter Portfolio. As a trusted advisor, this role involves supporting business teams, identifying contractual risks, and driving issues to closure. The successful candidate will collaborate with leadership, customers, and cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives while driving continuous improvement in contract management processes.
This position is well suited for a highly motivated, well-organized person who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. Your responsibilities will include developing creative approaches to solving problems while employing sound change management and communication skills.

What You Will Do
In this role, you will support and collaborate with the Contracts Manager/Lead and be responsible for helping lead, manage, and administer multiple programs and pursuit opportunities.
Analyze Requests for Proposal (RFP), development of proposals, proposal reviews and coordination, negotiation, contractual agreements, all phases of contracts execution, as well as contract administration
Collaborate with the Contracts Lead, Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Proposal Manager, Business/Estimating and Supply Chain
Support program management and execution reviews
Provide sound contract management to meet customer obligations, achieve company objectives, and comply with company policies
Provide guidance regarding contractual and business issues, advising stakeholders of contractual rights and obligations as well as possible mitigation of contractual/program risks
Examine and understand cost structure estimates of labor, material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness
Identify, mitigate, drive the resolution of contractual issues as they may arise, and lead customer status meetings
Contract Closeout
Some travel to customer sites
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start date
Experience with U.S. Government contracts
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with administration and negotiation of proposals and contracts
Ability to analyze business scenarios, identify risks, and develop effective solutions
Track record of independently managing workloads and driving issues to resolution
