Registered Veterinary Technician, Emergency

Our SAGE Concord location opened a brand-new state-of-the-art facility in the summer of 2022! It is the largest Specialty and Emergency Hospital in the East Bay area. Our next-generation facility has allowed SAGE Concord to significantly expand its Emergency, Specialty, and Urgent Care services to the growing East Bay community.

Our Specialty offerings consist of Emergency, Critical Care, Cardiology, Integrative Medicine, Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Surgery. This new facility features multiple advanced Surgery suites, as well as sophisticated Trauma response and Critical Care capabilities. Our vision in SAGE Concord is to continue the expansion of SAGE’s existing services to meet the ongoing demand for additional services in our community.

About the role:
You will play a crucial role in partnering with our ER Doctors, providing top-notch customer experiences, and delivering outstanding patient care. 

Your day-to-day tasks will involve: 

• Triaging incoming patients and managing clients throughout their visit 
• Partner with DVM’s in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures 
• Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates 
• Utilize different modalities of imaging for patient assessment 
• Executing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events 

Compensation rate:

• $25 - $40/hr 
• $5.50/hr differential paid for any hours worked between 6pm - 6am

• You have a strong foundational understanding and can perform the basic responsibilities of a veterinary technician including (but not limited to): venipuncture, placing IV catheters, drug calculations, administration of medications (IV or other methods), Taking Vitals, and gathering medical history 

• High school diploma
• CA RVT license required
• At least 2+ years of clinical ER experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations
• High level of venipuncture skills, math calculations, and patient handling

• Full-Time
• 3/12 or 4/10 schedule
