Position Overview:
The position of Project Engineer oversees and engages in the design, development, and installation of aircraft interior components, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards. They collaborate with various teams to define project requirements, manage budgets and timelines, and support manufacturing, testing, certification, and final delivery.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and impact of proposed cabin interior projects
- Creates engineering estimate and project schedule to complete the design and implementation effort
- Project lead for the design of products or systems for all LifePort product families
- Creates 3D engineering models and 2D drawings using Solidworks CAD software
- Ability to understand and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) approaches
- Apply engineering principles and knowledge of aerospace and other regulatory directives to ensure design and manufacturing adhere to standards and customer requirements
- Controls engineering expenditures within the limitations of assigned project budgets
- Identify and address technical issues or delays that may arise during the project lifecycle
- Interact with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues
- Provides reports on the status of project milestones and adjusts schedules accordingly
- Provides technical review presentations of projects to internal and external customers
- Continuously seeks opportunities for improvement and innovation in product design and functionality
- Oversee testing and evaluation of prototypes and final products to ensure they meet performance requirements
- Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced engineers and team members, promoting a culture of collaboration, learning, and growth within the team

- Excellent teamwork skills and high degree of initiative required
- Excellent communication both written and verbal
- Work independently and possess a high level of self-motivation and initiative
- Must be proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience in SolidWorks and Enterprise PDM
- Proficient with 3-D modeling and 2-D drafting
- Proficient with ASME Y14 drafting and design standards
- Working knowledge of FAA Certification Practices
Education, Certifications and Experience:
- BS in Mechanical, Aerospace engineering, Material Sciences or related fields
- 6-10 years’ experience in engineering
