In this role, you’ll lead orientation, clinical training, continuing education, and professional development for hospice nursing and clinical staff. Working closely with managers and interdisciplinary teams, you’ll design and implement evidence-based training programs and in-services that meet state and federal guidelines while fostering excellence in end-of-life care.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities – Hospice Nurse Educator

  • Develop and lead hospice orientation, clinical training, and ongoing education for nursing and clinical staff

  • Collaborate with managers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure training aligns with regulatory standards and best practices

  • Conduct skills labs, field assessments, and preceptor training to support staff development and mentorship

  • Track training completion, competencies, and CE programs to ensure compliance

  • Serve as a clinical resource, support ANCC Nurse Planner duties, and mentor students in practicum placements

  • Maintain updated educational content, class schedules, and patient education materials

  • Support quality initiatives, certification attainment, and contribute to clinical excellence through active committee involvement

  • Assist with CPR training, vaccine clinics, and employee health needs

  • Foster a culture of learning, professionalism, and compassionate hospice care

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Hospice Nurse Educator position will have the following qualifications:

  • BSN required; Master’s degree preferred

  • 3+ years of hospice experience preferred

  • 3+ years of experience as a Clinical Educator preferred

  • Knowledge of hospice regulations and standards preferred

  • Familiarity with HomeCare HomeBase/PointCare a plus

  • Excellent teaching and computer skills

  • Strong organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skills
