About the role

Senior DevOps Engineer, CoCounsel for Government

Are you a seasoned DevOps professional eager to drive best-in-class infrastructure and deployment practices? As a Senior DevOps Engineer on our CoCounsel for Government team, you’ll architect and maintain robust AWS environments, implement secure CI/CD pipelines, and ensure compliance with stringent government regulations. This is a hands-on role for someone passionate about both the “dev” and the “ops” sides of DevOps.

About the role

Architect & Implement

  • Design and manage AWS infrastructure (with an emphasis on CloudFormation), container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and automated deployment pipelines.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and observability across all environments.

Secure & Compliant

  • Integrate security best practices and government compliance (FedRAMP, FIPS) into the DevOps lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with InfoSec teams to proactively address vulnerabilities and maintain hardened systems.

Python Proficiency

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tooling in Python, with an emphasis on production-grade code and performance.

  • Advocate for code quality, documentation, and type safety where applicable.

Continuous Improvement

  • Optimize CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and logging systems to improve developer productivity and reduce downtime.

  • Mentor junior engineers on DevOps methodologies, offering code reviews and technical guidance.

About You

Experience

  • 4+ years in DevOps, site reliability engineering, or a related role, focusing on AWS and container-based architectures.

  • Proven track record designing and supporting production environments with a high degree of automation.

Technical Proficiency

  • Deep understanding of AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, CloudFormation), Docker, and Kubernetes.

  • Strong background in Python for writing infrastructure tooling or backend services, with a preference for well-structured, type-informed code.

Security & Compliance Awareness

  • Comfortable implementing compliance requirements and secure coding practices, particularly in government-regulated environments.

Collaboration

  • Adept at working cross-functionally, from product managers to security teams, communicating effectively about infrastructure and deployment strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).

  • Experience automating compliance checks or vulnerability scanning.

  • AWS GovCloud experience.
