About the role

Position Overview

United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a Resident Medication Assistant to join our team and support the health and well-being of our long-term care residents. The Resident Medication Assistant is responsible for administering routine medications, monitoring residents for side effects, and maintaining accurate documentation under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. This role is essential in helping ensure our residents receive consistent, compassionate, and high-quality care.

Candidates should be detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to supporting a safe and respectful environment. The ideal applicant will have previous experience in a healthcare or residential care setting and a strong understanding of medication administration practices. Compensation Range:

$15.00 - $20.74 per hour, depending on experience

Job Responsibilities

  • Administers medications and supervises self-administration according to physician orders

  • Maintains inventory and orders medications and supplies

  • Responds to emergencies and assists with medical needs as required

  • Completes monthly chart and medication audits

  • Assists with personal care, mobility, hygiene, and housekeeping tasks

  • Maintains resident records and communicates with healthcare providers

  • Coordinates medical, dental, and mental health appointments

  • Provides snacks and beverages to promote nutrition and hydration

  • Encourages participation in activities and routines

  • Assists with resident and family orientation

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications

  • Minimum Required:

    • High School diploma or equivalent and at least 18 years of age
    • Resident Medication Assistant training within 2 months of hire
    • Basic first aid certification within 3 months of hire
