We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager to join our team and lead the development and enhancement of our mobile and desktop operating system (OS) products. The Senior Manager Operating Systems is responsible for defining product vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring the OS meets customer needs and aligns with the company’s goals. This leader will recommend and develop innovative and modern technical solutions with a customer-focused mindset. This role will help define product strategies and own product roadmaps and is accountable for product outcomes and services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and support, to deliver high-quality, innovative OS solutions.

Education and Experience
Required:
- Undergraduate degree and/or equivalent experience/certification
- 7+ years of IT leadership experience with a blend of deep technical knowledge and a customer-focused mindset that includes:
- 3+ years Product Vision and Strategy: Define and communicate the product vision and strategy for the operating system, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall goals and market demands.
- 3+ years Roadmap Development: Create and maintain a detailed product roadmap, prioritizing features and enhancements based on customer needs, market trends, and business objectives.
- 3+ years Migration Updates - Upgrading to a more modern, efficient operating system with enhanced performance, improved security features, and a refreshed user interface. The migration process includes checking hardware compatibility, backing up data, and performing the upgrade via Windows Update or installation media, ensuring a seamless transition with minimal disruption.
- 3+ years Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams, to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into detailed product specifications.
- 3+ years Backlog Management: Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring that development teams have clear, actionable tasks and that product goals are met efficiently.
- 3+ years Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, and support teams to ensure successful product development, launch, and ongoing support.
- 3+ years Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings, using this information to inform product decisions.
- 3+ years Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for product-related queries, providing regular updates to stakeholders on product status, plans, and performance.
- 3+ years User Experience: Champion the user experience, ensuring that the OS is intuitive, reliable, and meets the needs of diverse user groups.
- 3+ years Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key performance metrics to assess the success of product features and make data-driven decisions for future improvements.
- 3+ years Agile Practices: Lead agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, to ensure effective collaboration and continuous improvement within the development team.
Preferred:
- 2+ years at a Manager level or above at a Fortune 500 company with significant scale.
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale infrastructure initiatives/transformations.
- A thorough understanding of the interdependence of systems and their impact to the business.
- Understanding of the quality assurance, risk management, and security considerations and their impact on the overall technology environment.
- End to end infrastructure lifecycle experience related to user identity and access management.
- Strong understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Fluency in human-centered product discovery methods such as design thinking and service design.
- Strong process management and problem resolution skills.
- Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience in business systems and process planning.
- Demonstrated ability to assess customer/client needs, creatively approach solutions, decide and influence appropriate courses of action.
- Ability to understand and communicate the lifecycle of technologies and applications and to translate into business strategies for the client organizations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas in easy to understand business terms.
