Turning visions into concrete lighting solutions: As a Senior Design Engineer, you take the lead in transforming ideas into precise and functional mechatronic solutions, from new luminaire components to complete assemblies.Working closely with an interdisciplinary team, you guide and support the project from the first sketch through to final approval for series production. You are the one who brings ideas and visions to life, mastering technical challenges and supporting the team with your knowledge and experience. Whether it’s about material selection or ensuring manufacturability, you keep an overview at all times and drive the mechatronic development of our new products with your expertise. Responsibilities
- Define product requirements in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Independently develop and design new lighting solutions, taking into account material selection, commercial aspects, and relevant mechanical standards
- Integrate electrical components and sensors into the product architecture
- Drive the consideration and implementation of new production technologies in the design process
- Commission prototypes, organize tests, and prepare production documentation up to release
- Lead internal departmental projects for the strategic development of the area
Skills & Experience
- Successfully completed technical education (FH, HTL, University, etc.) in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a related field
- Several years of professional experience in new product development, ideally with mechatronic components
- Extensive knowledge of production technologies, such as sheet metal processing, plastics manufacturing, surface treatment, or automation technology
- Confident and targeted application of project management techniques and methods
- Independent, dynamic, and open-minded personality with the ability to solve complex problems in a creative and flexible way
- Very good command of English, both written and spoken; German is a plus
