Business Intelligence Analyst - Contractor

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand business data requirements.
• Design, document, and validate data models and business logic within Data Warehouses.
• Build and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations in Power BI.
• Translate business questions into technical queries using DAX and SQL.
• Perform data profiling, cleansing, and validation to ensure high data quality.
• Develop KPIs, metrics, and performance indicators aligned with business goals.
• Automate reporting and analysis processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Conduct user training and provide ongoing support for Power BI users.
• Work closely with data engineers and architects to ensure optimal data structure and ETL performance.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data refresh issues and data integrity concerns in Power BI Service.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.

• Hands-on implementation or architecture experience with Microsoft Fabric, including designing, modeling, or supporting data solutions using Fabric components (e.g., Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Pipelines, or Semantic Models).

• 5+ years of experience in Business Analysis or Business Intelligence roles, with a focus on Data Warehousing and Power BI.

• Proficient in Power BI (Power Query, DAX, Power BI Service, and Dataflows).

• Strong SQL skills and solid understanding of data modeling concepts (star and snowflake schemas).

• Experience working with both cloud-based and on-prem data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, SQL Server, or similar).

• Knowledge of ETL processes and tools (SSIS, ADF, or similar).

• Experience supporting data governance efforts, including creating and maintaining data dictionaries.

• Experience working with large datasets to support Master Data Management (MDM) and data quality initiatives.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
