About the role

The instructor is responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities during the day, evening, or weekend via instructional delivery formats to include face-to-face, hybrid, online, and remote. Face-to-face and hybrid classes may be offered on any Prince George’s Community College campus, or at off-campus locations. The instructor must remain current in the discipline area and continually explore teaching methods and strategies to engage learners, organize and plan instructional content that accommodates diverse learning styles, and devise appropriate assessment tools that monitor student learning outcomes. The instructor is also responsible for participating in related activities to include professional development, academic advising, curriculum design


Effective August 8, 2022, Prince George’s Community College’s current vaccine mandate will expire for students, faculty, and staff. Select exceptions may apply. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business, health care administration, accounting or related field is preferred
  • AAPC Certified Professional Biller (CPB™)
DISCIPLINE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
  • Must possess at least 3 years of a combination of coding, auditing, and/or billing experience.
  • At least 2 years’ experience with Outpatient E&M Coding preferred
  • Knowledge and proficiency of Medicare Documentation Guidelines
  • Knowledge of monitoring insurance rejections/denied timely submissions Proficiency of ICD-10-CM Diagnosis Coding preferred
  • Knowledge of EMR experience a plus
  • Knowledge of preparing and sending invoices or claims for payment
  • Knowledge of correcting rejected claims
  • Knowledge of tracking payments
  • Knowledge of following up with patients and insurance companies about outstanding bills
  • Proven work experience as a Medical Biller or similar role
  • Solid understanding of billing software and electronic medical records
  • Teaching experience preferred
