Description

The Department of Radiology in the School of Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle is recruiting for one full-time (100% FTE) faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, without tenure (WOT) by reason of funding, commensurate with experience, to join the department with an anticipated start date of October 1, 2026.  Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30).  Associate Professors WOT and full Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30).  Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

Responsibilities include clinical coverage of the diagnostic neuroradiology service, education of medical students, residents and fellows, and pursuit of academic excellence.  Candidates will be expected to perform clinical work in all aspects of neuroradiology (although not including cerebral angiography and related interventions).  The neuroradiology section provides clinical coverage and teaching at four medical centers (University of Washington, Harborview, Northwest, and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center), all with state-of-the-art equipment, including five 3 Tesla and five 1.5 Tesla MR systems, three 64-detector multidetector CT scanners, two dedicated neurointerventional angio suites and two PET-CT.  Teaching and mentoring of medical students, residents and fellows is also a large part of our Section’s mission.  Participation in departmental outreach as appropriate is expected. All UW faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.  This is an outstanding opportunity for those seeking a successful academic career in radiology.

The base salary range for these positions, at 100% FTE,  will be between $33,355 - $40,012 per month ($400,260 - $480,144 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a US Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.  This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University.  Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations.  Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.  This position is incentive eligible through the physicians practice plan.
