Overview
GrammaTech is a provider of software solutions and software research, development, and engineering services solving some of the world’s most complex security problems.
We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve as a strategic partner on the executive team. With a focus on DoD and IC government contracts, provide financial leadership and direction to support the company's growth and operational excellence.
The CFO will oversee all financial aspects of the company, including financial planning and analysis, pricing strategies, accounting, compliance, cash flow management, and operations. This role also involves acting as a liaison to the company board.
Location: Remote with a preference in or near central Maryland
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives.
- Provide insights and recommendations to the CEO and executive team to drive business growth and financial performance.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead the budgeting process and financial forecasting to ensure accurate financial projections.
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Analyze financial data and trends to provide actionable insights and recommendations for business decisions.
Pricing
- Lead cost proposals for the DoD and IC via SBIRs, BAAs, etc.
- Develop pricing strategies to ensure competitive positioning and profitability.
- Ensure pricing aligns with market demand, value delivery, and margin goals.
Accounting and Compliance Oversight
- Oversee all accounting functions, including month-end close, financial statements, and audit readiness.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and other regulatory and industry-specific requirements.
- Manage external relationships with auditors, banks, and financial institutions.
- Oversee internal controls and audit processes to safeguard company assets.
Cash Flow Management
- Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk.
- Manage cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
- Optimize the company's capital structure and funding strategies.
Operations and Administrative Functions
- Oversee operation support functions, including HR, Contracts, Security, and facilities management, to ensure efficient operations.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
Company Board Liaison
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the company board on financial matters.
- Prepare and present financial reports and updates to the board of directors.
Qualifications
- US citizenship required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role within a software or technology company.
- Strong expertise in financial planning, pricing strategy, and FP&A.
- Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and regulatory compliance.
- DCAA experience required.
- Experience leading cost proposals for the DoD and IC via SBIRs, BAAs, etc.
- Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making at all levels.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Unanet experience preferred.
The base salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 per year. This range is based on the Company's good faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual salary will take into consideration various factors such as role level, experience, expertise, and education.
