About the role
The Senior Project Manager for Diversified Automation is a pivotal role within the Operations Department, responsible for overseeing and managing a diverse portfolio of automation projects. This position requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in project management, particularly within the automation industry. The Senior Project Manager will travel approximately 60%.
Job Responsibilities: Project Planning and Execution: Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of automation projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and operational requirements.· Resource Management: Effectively allocate resources, including personnel and budget, to meet project milestones and deliverables.· Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, external partners, and clients, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.· Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues related to project scope, timeline, and budget, and implement proactive measures to mitigate their impact.· Quality Assurance: Oversee quality control processes to ensure that automation solutions meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations.· Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and Subcontractors to procure necessary materials and services, negotiate contracts, monitor progress and maintain relationships.· Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.· Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize project management processes, enhance efficiency, and maximize project outcomes.· Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and financial records, and generate regular status reports for management review.· Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Experience and Education: · Bachelor's Degree – engineering, business, or related field· Proven experience successfully managing material handling projects
Preferred Skills and Qualifications: · Advanced proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project)· Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field· PMP certification, and training related to automation technologies or project management
