Salary Range: $46,441 - $74,769
Purpose of Classification:The purpose of this classification is to supervise the day-to-day operations and staff involved in maintaining inventory and issuing parts for all vehicles and equipment assigned to the Fleet Management Division.
Essential Functions:The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; develops and oversees employee work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and control; compiles and reviews timesheets; approves/processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate; assists with or completes employee performance appraisals; directs work; acts as a liaison between employees and management; and trains staff in operations, policies, and procedures.
Processes parts orders; receives parts orders or work orders; verifies part numbers; checks stock and pending orders; supervises issuance of requisitioned parts; and handles informal requests.
Performs inventory control; receives parts; verifies correct parts and quantities are received; moves parts into correct location in storeroom; updates inventory records; and performs spot checks to ensure accuracy of inventory records.
Monitors outstanding orders and vendors; checks status of parts on order; makes follow-up calls to vendors to expedite deliveries; maintains performance records for vendors; negotiates prices with vendors; and arranges product training.
Receives parts and adds to inventory; performs the receiving function for parts; verifies correct delivery parts and quantities; moves parts into correct location in storeroom; and updates inventory records.
Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED required; three years of experience in parts ordering and inventory control; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
