IMTAbout the role
Founded in 1843 in Alès, the École nationale supérieure des mines d'Alès (IMT Mines Alès) is one of the 10 engineering schools with the longest history in France. Founded under Louis-Philippe to train managers for the mining industry, the school has constantly developed and adapted to changes in industry and society.
Today, it is a leading multi-disciplinary engineering school whose influence is recognized in the major national and international higher education rankings. Its motto is: "Science and creativity to invent a sustainable world". It has been a member of the Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT) since 2017. For more information: https://www.imt-mines-ales.fr
The successful candidate will join the Computer Science, Image and Artificial Intelligence (I3A) team at CERIS, which has merged with the European Research Center for Human Movement at the University of Montpellier to create the EuroMov Digital Health in Motion (EDHM) Joint Research Unit in January 2021
As part of the Carnot Mines-funded OPERGO-TMS project, several research teams are combining their skills to propose a decision-making methodology for reducing workstation arduousness. The project is divided into three phases:
- Motion capture and ergonomic score calculation (IMT Mines Alès, Mines Saint-Étienne and Mines Paris);
- Optimization using mathematical tools (Mines Saint-Étienne and IMT Mines Alès);
- Using Virtual or Augmented Reality techniques to design workstations (Mines Paris).
The person recruited will participate in the second phase of the project and will be responsible for:
- Positioning the problem in relation to works in the literature;
- Proposing human-centered decision support models;
- Using ergonomic scores pre-calculated in the first phase of the project in decision-making;
- Helping you decide between:
- Correcting postures by giving recommendations to operators;
- Suggesting alternative trajectories that are more ergonomic and less painful for operators;
- Workstation reconfiguration.
- Retrieving the instructions and algorithmic decisions recommended by the models, and pass them on to other partners to model with Virtual or Augmented Reality.
The person recruited will work closely with the consortium partners and participate in the publication of the project's scientific contributions.
Assignments will be carried out on the Louis Leprince Ringuet Campus of Mines Alès (30) or on the Georges Charpak Provence Campus in Gardanne (13) of Mines Saint-Etienne.
