POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic. Our Maintenance Mechanic’s apply methods, best practices, and procedures in preventative maintenance, inspection, diagnostics and repair, of buildings, utilities, equipment and machinery.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, install, and maintain production equipment, machinery, forklifts, power tools, and other facility equipment, with a strong emphasis on 480V 3-phase electrical systems, motor controls, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, and 24VDC control circuits.
  • Perform advanced electrical troubleshooting to identify and resolve equipment failures involving power distribution, control panels, relays, sensors, contactors, safety circuits, and industrial automation systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals to effectively diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Fabricate, modify, and repair machine components, guards, brackets, fixtures, and tooling using shop equipment and standard fabrication techniques.
  • Set up and operate manual milling machines, engine lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other machine shop equipment to manufacture and repair precision parts as required.
  • Perform welding, cutting, machining, and fabrication work to support equipment repairs, improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and corrective repairs on production equipment and facility systems to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Perform building and facility maintenance, repairs, and improvements, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and compressed air systems.
  • Complete all required maintenance documentation, work orders, PM records, and repair reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Safely operate forklifts, aerial lifts, and other material handling equipment as required.
  • Install, modify, maintain, and repair all production equipment and machinery, forklifts, power tools and other Sonaca North America equipment.
  • Perform building and facility maintenance, repairs and improvements.  This includes plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on facilities and equipment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES

  • High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred.  Candidates that do not have a high school diploma or high school equivalency will be required to take a pre-employment assessment to be considered for the role.
  • HVAC License, Electrical Journeyman license, Boiler operator license preferred.
  •  Knowledge of production machines and equipment and the mechanical ability needed to complete repairs.
  • Strong working knowledge of 480V 3-phase power systems, motor starters, VFDs, PLCs, and 24VDC control systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical and electro-mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in reading electrical and mechanical prints and schematics.
  • Experienced in manual machining using milling machines and lathes, including part fabrication and repair.
  • Welding and metal fabrication experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform electrical, plumbing and other facility repairs.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to operate a forklift truck.
  • Ability to diagnose problems, find solutions and implement all measures to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
  • Must be able to read and interpret equipment manuals.
