Who will you be joining?

The Senior Controller for Group Performance and Steering (GPS) performs the analysis and challenging of business development and financials on Segment and Operating Entity level. They help preparing the strategic and planning dialogues, productivity dialogues, benchmarking as well as the analysis and challenging of decision proposals. They participate in Group projects and initiatives. The role allows to deal with several business related topics and to gain a comprehensive overview of strategically relevant topics. Additionally, the position includes responsibilities for Life Segment Controlling within Allianz Group.
This role requires a broad business and technical financial knowledge/ skillset (e. g. financial matters, capital markets, regulatory issues or development in insurance markets) as well as the ability to represent GPS and its position/ assessments e.g. in discussions with Senior Management of the OEs or other Group Centers.

How can you make an impact?

You will:

Serve as a coverage officer and business partner for operating entities
Lead and/or participate in group projects and initiatives with other Group Centers and/or operating entities, focusing on areas such as Productivity and the Allianz Customer Model
Provide analytics and prepare regular and ad hoc reports
Lead Life Segment Controlling and Analytics, including both closing and forward-looking business development analytics. Driving improvements of the Group’s Life Segment reporting framework
Travel to operating entities as required

What are you made of?

Minimum Qualifications:

University degree or MBA in finance, accounting, economics, applied mathematics, or a related quantitative field
5+ years of professional experience in financial analysis, investments, actuarial science, risk analysis or technical area
Extensive experience in the insurance industry, particularly Life & Health Insurance, Reinsurance, Investments, or Capital is required
Proficiency in English (both written and spoken); additional language skills are advantageous
Strong communication skills
Strong analytical skills and a solid background in capital markets through previous work experience
Good understanding of IFRS accounting, capital markets, and macro-economics
Experience in developing or critically evaluating business plans
Proficient in MS PowerPoint and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with SAP/ECCS, PowerBI, and programming is a plus
Background in Risk Controlling, Actuarial, or Underwriting is an advantage
Project leadership experience
Previous experience in business related functions (i.e. Sales, Operations, Claims, Underwriting, Investment Management, Asset Management, Consulting, Product Development, Finance, Market Management, Digital / Tech etc.) is a plus.
