Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Monitor and secure information systems, identify any potential risks or breaches, and develop strategies to prevent security incidents.
Identify information system and network vulnerabilities by conducting regular audits.
Install and use software, such as firewalls and data encryption programs, to protect sensitive information.
Develop and implement effective security policies and protocols.
Respond to security incidents and provide detailed incident reports.
Conduct penetration testing to simulate attacks and identify weak points.
Work with the IT team to establish disaster recovery plans.
Stay up-to-date on the latest intelligence, including hacker methodologies, in order to anticipate security breaches.
Educate the workforce on information security through training and awareness programs.
Recommend security enhancements to management or senior IT staff.
Basic Qualifications:
Strong understanding of firewall administration, incident detection, firewall architecture, and intrusion detection systems.
Knowledge of risk assessment tools, technologies, and methods.
Experience designing secure networks, systems, and application architectures.
Knowledge of disaster recovery, computer forensic tools, technologies, and methods.
Experience planning, researching, and developing security policies, standards, and procedures.
4-9 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a relevant discipline.
Masters degree is equivalent to 2 years of experience.
PhD degree is equivalent to 4 years of experience.
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certification (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM, CEH, etc.)
Experience supporting DoD programs.
Experience with cloud-based technologies.
ITIL certification.<
