Department: Health Sciences - College of Allied Health
Reports To: Academic Operations Manager
LOCATION: Green Bay
STANDARD HOURS: 8-12 hours per week; depending on the hours of operation in the Dental Assistant Clinic and the Dental Hygiene Clinic. Scheduled to be determined at the time of hire; flexibility required to meet the needs of our students/customers.
STARTING RATE OF PAY: $16.36 per hour
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Facilitate cross-cultural communication for non-English speaking dental patients during the appointment including translating patient care interactions between the patient, student, faculty, and dentist, and assisting with completion of health questionnaire forms.
Assist with patient appointment scheduling and confirmation for non-English speaking Dental patients.
Assist with translation of dental and medical forms and procedural signages for the Dental Assistant and Dental Hygiene Clinics.
Adhere to HIPAA privacy laws to protect the confidentiality of patient information.
Communicate dental clinic services, protocols, and limitations to non-English speaking patients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Technical Diploma or Associate Degree
2 years of prior customer service/administrative work experience; ideally within the Dental industry.
Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to read, write and speak fluently in Spanish and English
**An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years’ experience as a Spanish/English interpreter is preferred.
Workday preferred; Knowledge of Dental Software (Dentrix) preferred.
Certificate in the completion of an Interpreter Training Program or the passing of a Certified Interpreter Exam preferred.

Extended Sitting: Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or attending meetings
Mobility: Ability to move around the campus to attend meetings and events
Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in using hands and fingers to handle or operate office equipment, tools, or controls.
Visual and Auditory: Ability to read documents and communicate effectively with students and staff.
Light Lifting: Capability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
