Senior Software Engineer

Ho'olaulima Government Solutions LLC (HGS) is a Small Business Administration-certified, Native Hawaiian Organization-Owned, 8(a) Small Business which provides services and solutions in the areas of Cybersecurity Services, Information Technology Services, Professional and Technical Services, Environmental Services, and Healthcare Services to the Department of Defense and other Federal agencies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create internal frameworks for use by other software engineers on the team.
• Work with the database engineers to create new tables, schemas, or stored procedures that efficiently transport data.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Eight (8) year of software engineering/developer experience as detailed above.
• Familiar with a variety of scripts, programming languages, and operating systems. Examples include, but are not limited to:
  • Django, Python, Javascript
• Utilizing software applications, modules, and databases in various languages, including those associated with scientific, technical, or engineering problems
• Designing a desire outcome based on requested functionality
• Writing programs that achieve a desired outcome or workflow from nothing more than observation of desired outcomes, workflows, or from vague original concepts
• Developing and writing original website and database applications that model existing workflow into automated systems
• Familiarity with techniques to interact with data stored in PostgreSQL, and other Database (DB) formats.
• Must be familiar with using a GIT repository
• Working knowledge of advanced programming techniques. Must be proficient utilizing external code and integrating into applications.
• Proficient in .net (4.0 and above) C# development of Windows console applications and services.
• Experience working as part of a team of 5+ developers on software development projects used in a production environment with a user base of 50+ users.
• Proficiency with Visual Studios 2012 (and above) and used/maintained/setup a Distributed Version Control System (such as Mercurial and Git) and using package repositories (such as NuGet).
• Experience coding with model-view-viewmodel (MVVM) methodology for production environments.
• Working knowledge of network transport protocols and frameworks
• Working knowledge of Windows messaging and queuing technologies (e.g., Microsoft Message Queuing, RabbitMQ, etc.)
• Experience developing applications or services that read and store data from databases (relational databases such as MS SQL or PostgreSQL is preferred)
• Experience using SDKs and APIs to integrate third-party components into applications.
• Must possess an active Top Secret Clearance

Preferred Skills:

• Experience deploying services to AWS cloud
• Ansible
• Jinja2
