Position Overview

The Finance & Accounts team, located in Oswego, New York, is seeking a Sr Accountant! The primary function of the Sr. Accountant is to support manufacturing operations and finance by preparing and analyzing financial reports on a monthly and annual frequency. These are reports are used to help make sound business decisions that support the plants objectives and create shareholder value!

• Performing month-end activities such as preparing and posting journal entries in SAP, completing the CO Close steps in SAP and preparing balance sheet reconciliations in OneStream.
• Perform annual activities such as reviewing and updating standard costs in SAP, overhead cost allocations, government reports/surveys, and internal & external audit requests.
• Exporting data from multiple sources to review & analyze actual results against plan & forecast.
• Analyze and report on inventory variances and assist with periodic physical inventory counts
• Build analytical models utilizing both financial and non-financial data to forecast and analyze operating results. Be able to clearly articulate results back to management in order to drive better business decisions.
• Facilitate annual planning and quarterly forecasting cycles for support functions.
• Support World Class Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities by participating in cross-functional business projects and gain a comprehensive knowledge of the operational cost drivers to better support project initiatives.
• Perform regular deep-dive analyses into production related cost variances to help management identify losses and target areas of improvement.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
• Advanced proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel is a must.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Ability to think independently, synthesize data and make proactive, concise recommendations based on findings. Thrives on ability to work autonomously.
• Creative and innovative team player with a positive approach and a focus on business issues.
• Demonstrated ability to build successful relationships with plant leadership and regional office personnel.
• Willingness to take on additional projects and multi-task with changing priorities, as necessary.
• Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines with emphasis on sustained accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Hyperion.
• Manufacturing experience.

This role’s salary starts from $80k-100k per year. Individual pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, and performance. In addition to base salary, this position includes participation in a short-term incentive plan.
