IT Concepts is looking for an experienced accounting manager. The accounting manager is responsible for all day-to-day financial activities including accounting, reporting, month-end-close, and payroll. This individual will work closely with the CFO in financial accounting, compliance, and financial statement development. Successful applicants will possess government contracting experience, an exceptional work ethic, prior experience as an accounting manager, an extremely high level of attention to detail, and demonstrated experience collaborating with others across all disciplines of a corporate environment.
Responsibilities:
- Execute company's accounting practices, maintain fiscal records, and prepare financial reports.
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department.
- Manage and ensure execution of all accounting functions including A/R, A/P, expense reports, and payroll in a Unanet accounting system.
- Perform monthly close including preparing monthly financial statements, supporting schedules, analyses, reconciliations, and invoices to clients.
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of corporate operations.
- Establish and maintain strong accounting controls sufficient to ensure compliance with applicable government contractor regulations.
- Implement and enhance systems to further automate processes for efficiencies and effectiveness while maintaining internal controls and adhering to government regulatory compliance.
- Work under the direct supervision of the CFO.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a corporation in the government consulting space
- Strong problem solving and analysis skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions in a fast paced and changing environment
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite with an expertise in Excel
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations, government contracting/DCAA requirements, and US GAAP
- Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a federal contractor
- Hybrid Remote (1-2 times per week in Vienna, VA)
Preferred:
- Strong experience with Unanet accounting system
