Business Unit Overview:

Blackstone Credit is one of the world’s largest credit-focused asset managers. Blackstone’s Credit and Insurance segment has $295 billion in AUM. Blackstone Credit seeks to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns for our clients by investing across the entire corporate credit market, from public debt to private loans. Job Title:

Blackstone Credit – Principal, Private Credit Strategies

Job Responsibilities:

  • Focus primarily on providing private capital to upper middle market companies and private equity sponsors in connection with leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, growth financings and other corporate transactions.
  • Utilize a flexible approach when structuring investments, which may include senior debt (secured and unsecured), subordinated debt, preferred stock and/or private equity.
  • Develop both deep quantitative and qualitative skills through the investment process and gain exposure to a wide range of industries and investment types.
  • Focus primarily on providing private capital solutions to companies that would otherwise be unavailable in the public markets and invest in event-driven or other special situations opportunities through the public markets.
  • Evaluate companies in various stages of distress, as well as non-distressed situations with complexity or idiosyncratic risk.
  • Participate in all aspects of the investment process from origination to deal closing.
  • Perform financial analysis, execution of transactions (including meeting and interacting with management teams as part of the due diligence process), industry research and competitive analysis, and drafting of memoranda for internal and external use.
  • Work on numerous investment opportunities at a time.

 

Job Qualifications:

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, or a related field

 

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in job offered or related occupations
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience using Microsoft Excel to build detailed financial models and analyze financial returns and valuation.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience using Microsoft PowerPoint to develop internal and external presentation materials on potential transactions.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience using CapitalIQ to underwrite, conduct due diligence on, and close private credit and structured equity investments in the United States.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience using either Salesforce or DealCloud to track and execute the sourcing of new transaction opportunities.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Microsoft World to negotiate definitive legal documentation for bespoke, structured capital solutions and related contracts.
  • Experience can be concurrent.

Expected annual base salary range:

$200,000 - $250,000
