Position Overview
Zelis is hiring a Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead an Agile Release Train (ART) comprising 17 Scrum teams and over 200 team members across the United States and India. This is a high-visibility role with direct interaction with senior and executive leadership. You will coordinate quarterly planning, coach agile teams and leaders, and drive delivery excellence across a globally distributed environment.The ideal candidate is an experienced agile delivery leader who can operate both strategically and tactically — someone who facilitates delivery at scale while also strengthening agile maturity across teams. You will play a critical role in building cross-team alignment, improving value flow, and reinforcing a culture of continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do:
Facilitate SAFe ceremonies including PI Planning, ART Syncs, Scrum of Scrums, and Inspect and Adapt workshops
Coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and team members on agile principles and scaled agile practices
Identify and manage cross-team dependencies, risks, and blockers to support delivery flow
Present delivery status, risks, and PI outcomes during executive reviews and senior leadership meetings
Build and maintain a community of practice to align agile approaches across business units
Support and develop Scrum Masters to strengthen agile leadership capability
Provide hands-on support to teams where agile maturity is still developing
Use tools such as Jira, Jira Align, Confluence, Aha, or Rally to manage work visibility and coordination
What You Bring to Zelis:
Minimum 7 years of experience in agile delivery, including at least 3 years leading Agile Release Trains or large-scale agile programmes
Proven experience working with globally distributed teams, ideally across the United States and India
Strong facilitation, coaching, and communication skills, with the ability to work across all organisational levels
Deep understanding of SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban, with a pragmatic and outcomes-focused mindset
Demonstrated ability to lead by influence in a matrixed organisation
Professional presence and fluency in communicating with executive stakeholders
SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification or equivalent scaled agile credential preferred
Proficiency in enterprise agile tools such as Jira Align, Rally, or Aha
Location and Workplace Flexibility
