Description

Job Summary:

The primary responsibility is to maintain, repair, or replace all manufacturing equipment. Conduct daily inspections of all equipment. Meet with supervisor daily to get the list of daily work orders that need to be completed.

Essential Duties:

  • Improve plant operations by maintaining production equipment by repairing or replacing the equipment as directed
  • Maintain organization of supplies, tools, and parts for the maintenance department
  • Complete a monthly preventive maintenance inspection

Tools/Equipment:

  • Driving a forklift and scissor lift
  • Ladders
  • Hand tools (employee provides own basic hand tools)
  • Power tools
  • Welding
  • Chemicals

 Physical Demands:

  • Standing and walking frequently
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds constantly
  • Lifting 50-75 pounds occasionally
  • Team lifting of 100 pounds rarely
  • Capable of carrying up to 50 pounds constantly
  • Pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds constantly
  • Constantly bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and twist
  • Constantly climbing ladders and stairs
  • Occasionally balancing, or crawling
  • Constantly reaching, and reaching above the head
  • Constantly handling, and repetitive movement of the hands and feet
  • Frequently driving heavy machinery (forklifts)
  • Able to work at a height of up to 30 feet

Qualifications

 Basic Qualifications

  1. Education

    • High school diploma or GED (required)

    • Vocational training or technical school (preferred)

  2. Experience

    • 2–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or facility setting

    • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems

 Technical Skills

  • Mechanical troubleshooting and repair

  • Electrical systems knowledge (basic wiring, circuit breakers, motors)

  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems

  • Welding and fabrication (optional but beneficial)

  • Use of hand and power tools

  • Preventive maintenance procedures

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals

  • Basic computer skills (maintenance logs, CMMS systems)
