Job Description
Authority
The Field Sampler receives sufficient authority from and is accountable to the Operations Manager or appointed designate for the successful completion of assigned duties and responsibilities and has the authority to take action necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities of this position and to identify the occurrence of departures from the quality system or from the procedures for collecting representative samples, so long as such action does not deviate from established company guidelines, is consistent with sound technical and business judgment and follows the practices of the business unit.
Overall Objectives and Responsibilities
On Call/Flex Field Sampler: Flexible and varying hours M-F, 6:00am-6:00pm
- Sampling for food and food-related products at various regional locations, commonly warehouses, for reasons such as FDA Detention, import/export needs, production inspection, specification verification, quality concerns, and special projects.
- Collect randomized samples in various containers including but, not limited to cartons, boxes, drums, and sacks to ensure a representative product (sample) by following prescribed Eurofins Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Utilize superior aseptic technique for sampling and handling.
- Effectively package samples for shipping or delivery to local Eurofins laboratory.
- Provide concierge-level service on and off-site delivering 100% customer satisfaction through high-quality sampling practices, problem-solving, and professional communication.
- Follow industry standards to ensure samples are representative of the lot per respective import alert or, customer standard.
- Responsible for accuracy in sampling and reporting results per FDA, Customer or, Company protocol.
- Represent Eurofins Scientific, Inc. to Client Company by acting in a professional manner.
- Process necessary paperwork required by the Client Company and Eurofins Sampling Unit.
- Follow appropriate safety and PPE requirements.
- Submit expense reports.
- Participate in ongoing training and calibration provided by Eurofins.
- Maintain a perpetual state of readiness and willingness to respond to the queries and needs of clients, staff, and co-workers.
- Maintain collaborative working relationships with all company employees. Communicate orally and in writing to co-workers.
- Promote the company image through the exercising of sound and ethical business practices related to the public and our customers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Responsive, independent problem solver and action-oriented
- Systematic and detail-oriented, ability to handle multiple projects at once.
- Proficient computer skills and; Fluent in Microsoft suite programs (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to speak and understand English, Spanish a plus
- Initial Education Background
- High school diploma or GED, preferred with 3-5 years’ experience
