  As a Principal Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector's Enterprise Technology team , you have extensive knowledge of software, applications, and technical systems and processes in infrastructure engineering, complimented by advanced knowledge of other disciplines. Contribute to the development of technical methods in one specialized field or area in line with product development methodologies. Apply extensive in-depth expertise and problem-solving methodologies to accomplish, plan, and review tasks across multiple large scope projects in various technical areas.

Job responsibilities

 

  • Identifies and solves problems of high complexity associated with infrastructure engineering technology
  • Applies extensive in-depth expertise and problem-solving to accomplish, plan, and review tasks across multiple large scope projects, businesses, and domains to influence, manage, and implement functional technology platforms
  • Responsible for high impact projects requiring deep technical expertise and leadership
  • Partners across other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes
  • Drives thought leadership within the product line or platform
  • Extensive consideration of upstream/downstream systems or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions
  • Considers financial implications of staffing, budget, and relevant profit and loss
  • Mentors and coaches junior engineers and technologists
  • Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience
  • Extensive experience in two or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
  • Extensive knowledge of specific infrastructure technology and programming languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)
  • Expertise in Resource Management; Technological, Organizational and/or Operational Change Management; Portfolio Management; Conflict Resolution; Negotiation; Budget/Financial Management, including Business Case Completion; Controls; and Partnership and Influence
  • In-depth knowledge of at least one technology discipline (e.g., software delivery, infrastructure management)
  • Capability to assess and mitigate capacity-relates risks with keen commercial and financial awareness, with a full comprehension of impact to business and internal stakeholders.​
  • Proven experience in IT capacity management, particularly with critical applications and on-premises infrastructure.​
  • Experience with  Hypervisor, Kubernetes, Databases, BMC True Sight Capacity Optimization.​
  • Good grasp on compute, memory and storage concepts.​
  • Manage the development and maintenance of capacity management reports and dashboards that provide insights into capacity utilization and performance.​
  • Strong experience of building capacity/forecasting models and plans and undertaking complex analysis to build information.​

  • Understanding or working experience with API is a plus!​
