Responsibilities:

  1. Pre-sales and post-sales technical support of AFM and Nanospectroscopy products such as AFM-Raman/NanoRaman.
  2. Discover and develop new applications for AFM and Nanospectroscopy.
  3. Initiate collaborative projects on AFM and Nanospectroscopy for joint publications
  4. Deliver scientific presentations at conferences and/or workshops
  1. Manage communications with customers to ensure issue resolution and proper follow-up, to ensure customer satisfaction.
  2. Must attend training on products and help develop training and service documentation as required.
  3. Is the primary point of contact for our AFM/Raman customers, Field Service Engineers & global affiliates.
  4. Use ServiceMax to create and update cases accurately and timely with all necessary information.
  5. Initiate and actively participate in the content creation of applications notes, service technical notes, and service manuals.
  6. Support Sales, Production, R&D and Quality functions as needed.
  7. Run prospect samples and write analysis reports as needed.
  1. Perform instrument demos and customer training at HORIBA facility or in the field.
  2. Participate in the testing and QC of instruments as needed.
  1. Travel for training and system installations as directed by Manager, including overnight stays. Travel is typically less than 25% but could change and is dependent upon business needs.

 

Requirements:

  1. M.S. Degree (or higher) in chemistry, biophysics, physics, materials sciences/engineering, or other related scientific field
  2. Technical proficiency in AFM/SPM product (instrumentation and applications).
  3. Excellent communication skills required; both oral and written.
  4. Knowledge of spectroscopic instruments and techniques such as Raman, Fluorescence, FTIR and Photoluminescence a plus
  5. Experience with Nanospectroscopy (e.g., AFM-Raman) preferred 
  6. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, be self-motivated and organized.
  7. Strong interpersonal, self-motivational, & negotiating skills.
  8. Strong analytical skills 
  9. Understand and adhere to safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe and balanced workplace environment.
