Sales Manager

Responsibilities (May include but are not limited to):

• Uphold the fundamentals of the Nicholson Nine and Responsible Care Guiding Principles.
• Meeting and exceeding all budgeted goals in the Detroit East Territory.
• Effectively communicate and follow up in a timely manner with attention to detail.
• Control pricing on new and old accounts to ensure they meet the minimum margin requirements.
• Assist, train, develop and work with assigned Sales Representatives.
• Help to Create, strengthen, and grow partnerships at key existing accounts.
• Prioritize effective time and territory management to grow the Cleveland customer database.
• Exemplify a high level of motivation and determination to grow the assigned territory.
• Advocates and utilizes the CRM system.
• Champion relationships and enhance internal partnerships with Purchasing, Sales Support, Customer Service, Operations, and Management to ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining profitability.
• Uphold the fundamentals of the Nicholson Nine and Responsible Care Guiding Principles.
• Maintaining safety as a top organizational priority.

Complexity of Duties:

• Chemical manufacturing and distribution focus requires basic technical knowledge and understanding of the industry.

Required Education / Competencies / Equivalent Experience (Prior to hire / transfer):

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• 5 – 7 years of proven leadership and management experience in chemical distribution or related field.
• Knowledge of MS Office and E-mail computer programs.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• High level of motivation.
• Skills in leadership, financial management, budgeting, negotiation, and employee relations.

Location / Reporting Relationship:

The position is based at the PVS Detroit and reports to the Detroit Branch Manager.
