Position Summary
The warehouse logistics manager is responsible for the detailed planning, organization, management, and implementation of complex operations that are related to warehousing, shipping, and receiving. This position is responsible for implementing and/or utilizing all the policies and procedures that are involved in warehousing, and oversees team performance, expedites the receiving and shipping of goods, and ensures efficient, organized storage.
Essential Functions/Key Deliverables
Responsible for the negotiation of truckload and LTL freight contracts.
Assume responsibility for all warehouse activities according to the organizational regulations.
Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal, by supervising, organizing, directing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operation goals.
Assist in implementation and development of warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory management, shipping, and receiving.
Coordinate the use of SAP transactions throughout the warehouse.
Participate in recruitment and selection process.
Manage daily activities of the warehouse, including quality assurance, inventory control, inhouse logistics, floor productivity, shipping/receiving, and customer service. Monitor the performance and progress of staff.
Motivate, organize, train, and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met.
Oversee the accurate recording of department employee’s attendance system and provide all necessary information to enable accurate payroll preparation.
Oversee daily operations, while controlling and managing inventory and inhouse logistics.
Ensure quality, delivery to budget and environmental objectives are met.
Review and prepare workflow for manning and plan future capacity space requirements.
Implement, maintain, and monitor all Health and Safety regulations, rules, procedures, standards and policies, hygiene, and security in the work environment.
Establish, follow, and enforce standards and procedures and comply with legal regulations for all environmental requirements as stipulated in ISO 14001 and BRCGS procedures and guidelines on Health & Safety.
