About the role

Job Summary: The Material Coordinator tracks the delivery, receipt, usage and inventory levels for all non-scrap metal receipts.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all aspects related to delivery of prime materials, including both prime and hardeners.
  • Coordinate all aspects related to delivery and unloading of all purchased ingots.
  • Manage coordination with rail service provider, with an emphasis on avoiding accumulation of rail demurrage.
  • Perform physical receipt of ingots into both SAP and the Shop Floor systems.
  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics or customer and supplier issues for prime metal receipts, including reapplication of ingot barcodes.
  • Closely monitor and track inventory levels of prime and hardeners, and work with metal procurement on re-order points for same.
  • Coordination of prime consignment inventories when applicable.
  • Act as liaison with production APU’s with regards to prime consumption.
  • Participate in inventory counts, with a focus on accurate prime and hardener inventory levels.
  • Promote safe work activities.
  • Participate in daily flash meetings for the Casting APU.
  • Provide coordination support for communication of rejections with buying group.
  • Work with accounting on all month-end balancing and reconciliation of prime metal receipts.
  • Provide information regarding receipts, weights, etc., as needed.
  • Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

 

Qualifications:

  • Required high school diploma or equivalent.
    • Preferred 2-4-year degree with emphasis on science or business administration.
  • Experience with SAP is highly preferred.
  • Inventory control experience is preferred.
  • Must have a strong sense of ethical responsibility.
  • Must be self-driven.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must have strong Microsoft Office experience, including Excel.
  • Must be capable of handling multiple evolving tasks through each work day.
  • Capable of handling all weather as may require extensive time outdoors

 

About Constellium Muscle Shoals   

Constellium Muscle Shoals is a major aluminum sheet supplier for the packaging and automotive markets. The plant has ~1,200 employees and more than 100 acres under room, including five casting units, hot and cold rolling mills, and a slitting and finishing center. Muscle Shoals produces aluminum sheet for use in all three components of beverage cans (body stock, coated end stock, tab stock) and has the capacity to produce over 1 billion pounds per year of finished aluminum coils. The plant also produces aluminum automotive coils to be processed at our CALP line in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Muscle Shoals’ world-class recycling center is able to recycle the equivalent of 20 billion aluminum cans per year.
