Counsel, Last Mile Delivery

What you'll do...

Want to make a difference in a supporting a strategic growth area? Counsel, Last Mile Delivery is a critical role supporting the legal and regulatory needs of the Walmart Spark Driver platform. You will be part of the legal team in their support of this growing strategic initiative by managing a docket of pre-litigation claims and providing legal advice to the last mile delivery team. As counsel, you will manage assigned claims through the pre-litigation dispute resolution process, including advising business and legal leadership about legal rights and obligations and identifying risks for remediation.  You will manage and collaborate closely with outside counsel to drive case strategy and manage legal spend. 

What you’ll do:

• Create legal strategies for the Company’s last mile delivery pre-litigation matters

• Develop business best practices and procedures that will mitigate corporate risk

• Engage, direct, and supervise outside counsel

• Maintain budget compliance through consistent management of outside counsel legal fees

• Develop and foster relationships with business partners and maintaining an understanding business goals and objectives.

• Provide legal advice to the company clients that emphasizes the client's legal rights, obligations, and risks and promotes informed decisions.

• Effectively collaborate with internal cross-functional stakeholders to support best-in-class last mile delivery program

• Maintain expertise in the rapidly changing policy positions and legal requirements impacting the gig economy.

• Leverage technology to streamline processes, communication, and workflows.

What you’ll bring:

• Enthusiasm for challenges and ready to engage at Fortune 1 scale.

• You have litigation and/or claims management experience

• You’re organized, disciplined, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• You’re process-minded and look for opportunities to streamline for improved efficiency and effectiveness

• You have excellent communication and collaboration skills

• You have experience working in large cross-functional teams
