About the role

Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supplier Diversity and Compliance Manager to join our team in the construction industry. This role will be pivotal in driving diversity, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices throughout our supply chain. The ideal candidate will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop, implement, and manage programs that promote supplier diversity, ensure compliance with country-of-origin regulations, and create opportunities for underrepresented businesses.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Diversity Program Development:
  • Design and implement strategies to expand the inclusion of small, diverse, and disadvantaged businesses in construction projects.
  • Identify and recruit qualified diverse suppliers that align with company goals and project requirements.
  • Develop metrics to track and report the impact of supplier diversity efforts.
  • Compliance Management:
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to country-of-origin regulations and customer-specific compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with legal, procurement, and project teams to ensure regulatory and contractual obligations are met.
  • Stay updated on evolving compliance laws, standards, and certifications in the construction and supply chain sectors.
  • ESG Integration:
  • Champion ESG principles within the supply chain, creating innovative business practices to enhance sustainability and inclusivity.
  • Work with stakeholders to align procurement practices with corporate ESG goals.
  • Support initiatives that promote ethical sourcing, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Partner with customers to meet and exceed diversity and compliance expectations for construction projects.
  • Conduct training and workshops to educate internal teams and suppliers on supplier diversity and compliance policies.
  • Build strong relationships with industry groups, certification agencies, and advocacy organizations.
  • Data Analytics and Reporting:
  • Collect, analyze, and report supplier diversity and compliance metrics to leadership and customers.
  • Prepare reports for audits, client reviews, and corporate sustainability disclosures.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to improve program outcomes.


Requirements

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field (MBA preferred). Not required if proof of relative experience. 
  • 5+ years of experience in supplier diversity, procurement, or compliance, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of U.S. supplier diversity certifications (e.g., MBE, WBE, SBE) and compliance regulations (e.g., Buy America, FAR).
  • Strong understanding of ESG principles within supply chain management.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and analytical skills.
