System Analyst, Infrastructure Management

About the role
Summary
The System Analyst for Infrastructure Management is responsible for the analysis, implementation, improvement, and lifecycle management of infrastructure services and applications including on premise and cloud hosted servers and IaaS services.
Essential Duties
- Scopes, deploys, configures and administers Azure IaaS resources
- Monitors resources, proactively identifying and addressing capacity constraints and performance issues
- Performs Azure and VMware VM creation, management, replication and backups
- Manages IT Infrastructure service and application lifecycle management
- Oversees system upgrades to ensure minimal interruption to business
- Creates and maintains documentation, diagrams, interdependencies, and support requirements
- Conducts regular reviews of systems and generates reports on efficiencies and improvement areas
- Assists with changes that impact the infrastructure, identifying potential impacts to the Infrastructure and support teams
- Interfaces with Business Owners and Project Leads to manage planned down time, system maintenance windows, and patching schedules
- Assists with other areas of IT support including Disaster Recovery, Network Redundancy, Business Continuity planning, and testing of Disaster Recovery processes
- Assists with monitoring daily threats and security logs for unusual events that could pose potential threats to the district’s enterprise networks or systems
- Analyzes System Performance and System Failure
- Interfaces with vendors to resolve problems
- Participates in weekend maintenance, responding to critical incidents promptly
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to conduct capacity planning exercises, ensuring scalability and resource optimization
- Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOP s) and configuration details for infrastructure resources
- Utilizes advanced scripting skills in Power Shell
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology related field or Equivalent experience (2 years of similar work level experience = 1 year of college). A combination of experience and education may be used to meet the Bachelors Degree requirementCertification/Licensure

Minimum of 5 years of experience in information technology and network support required; Experience implementing change in an IT environment required; Experience and solid understanding of networking, storage, and server virtualization required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Expertise in virtualization systems solutions and operational support will be critical in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our virtualized infrastructure
- Experience with Azure Site Recovery and Azure Backup to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery readiness
- Strong leadership capabilities setting the standard for others to follow
- Must be able to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects and responsibilities
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues
- Ability to provide accurate and logical analysis of business needs and the ability to communicate the complex ideas to other staff and department heads
- Ability to develop implement, monitor, and evaluate program goals and initiatives
- Ability to work effectively in teams with other departmental personnel
- Good decision making skills and problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to analyze diverse hardware and software systems and provide expert opinions on implementation and support requirements
- Self-motivated willing to take the initiative to be proactive in managing and supporting our infrastructure
