JOB SUMMARY

This position requires familiarity with quality measure specification and development, data management, statistical analysis, and fundamentals of research methodology along with an understanding and knowledge of the health care industry, private practice environments, and physician performance and quality improvement programs. Additionally, this position will work directly with the EMR to coordinate, facilitate, and manage set-up of several EMR end user technical areas including, but not limited to, order entry (CPOE), new Providers, new end users, and access terminations and assist in the development of an end user system knowledge base related to established EMR policies and procedures.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MACRA/MIPS

  •  Work with Director and Senior Manager to form measure development panels; maintaining all records of measure development process.
  • Support submission of measures and related documentation to CMS for consideration for inclusion in payment programs.
  • Review and provide input on summaries and analyses of CMS quality programs (e.g. MIPS, MACRA) included in the CMS Medicare physician fee schedule proposed and final rules.
  • Collaborate with IT to ensure EMR workflow optimization.
  • Educate physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, midwives and other providers on documentation of quality measures.
  • Assist operations department in administering and implementing processes, procedures, corrective action plans ensuring these plans work within regulation framework.
  • Provide support to Practice Management operations regarding compliance with program regulations and monitor effectiveness of operating and maintenance procedures in MACRA/MIPS program.
  • Maintain all quality measure documents.
  • Assist in designing and implementing MACRA/MIPS training materials.
  • Collaborate with Practice Management operations to ensure achievement of operational goals, as well as optimization of system solutions.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.

Technical Application Support

  • Coordinate and implement, in consultation with physicians and their respective Consultant Practice Managers, the relevant order sets defined for each practice and/or provider.
  • Serve as the EMR liaison between any other ancillary service department utilizing CPOE and the providers and staff responsible for initiating orders to ensure clear understanding of protocols, policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all ancillary result interfaces to include maintaining test names (compendiums) and associating them back into the appropriate system.
  • Respond to error files generated by the interface by clearing errors.
  • Maintain cross reference file tables daily to include updates in both the system database files as well as to the end user.
  • Collaborate with other department staff members to achieve deadlines, ensure data integrity, and troubleshoot EMR end user issues.
  • Assist in the development of end user training needs relative to documentation for new and existing end users as new, refresher, or updated education needs arise including assuring all CPOE material adequately and thoroughly meets organizational and statutory policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with staff and leadership on specific tasks such as note deletion requests, open shared note items, chart merges, etc.
  • Manage the patient portal end user report to ensure minor patients are converted to adult accounts at the age of 18.
  • Work directly with transcription vendor on failed import technical issues related to moving documentation from the vendor system to the EMR.
  • Develop and continuously update data metrics used to determine end user EMR effectiveness.
  • Retrieve and interpret data metrics. Provide feedback to supervisor and identified parties as instructed regarding the data conclusions and opportunity recommendations.
  • Provide support for staff questions regarding processes and system concepts.
  • Make complex ideas or situations clear, simple, and/or understandable. Assemble ideas, issues, and observations into a clear and useful explanation. Restate existing observations or knowledge in a simpler fashion.
  • Enhance knowledge base through professional growth and self-development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
