Library Assistant

Work Schedule:

• Minimum of 20 hours per week, including daytime, evening, and weekend shifts.
• Flexibility for additional hours based on library needs.

 What You’ll Do:

• Greet and assist patrons at the circulation and children’s desks
• Help people find books, use computers, access digital resources, and more
• Shelve and process materials for circulation
• Support library programs and events
• Answer phones, and perform light clerical duties
• Provide excellent, friendly customer service to all library visitors
• Handle payments accurately and maintain confidentiality
• Follow safety guidelines and library policies

 What We’re Looking For:

• A helpful attitude and strong communication skills
• Comfort with technology, including computers, tablets, and online resources
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to learn library systems and procedures
• Dependability, attention to detail, and a team-player mindset

 Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and move materials throughout the library
• Comfortable with standing, bending, and light physical activity
• Visual and hearing acuity sufficient to assist patrons and operate equipment
