R&D Technician I (Temporary)

As an R&D Technician I, you will be responsible for performing processes related to the development/pilot production of high quality ceramics. You will work within a team environment to meet departmental goals and maintain work area cleanliness.

Position Information:

• This is a temporary, full-time position that is anticipated to last approximately 6 months (subject to change).

Roles & Responsibilities:

Work under close supervision to:

• Follow approved work instructions in the creation and/or testing of high quality ceramic products.
• Support R&D team by operating machines to create test parts.
• Work on assigned projects and collect data requiring the use and application of appropriate software to accurately maintain specified records of technical data.
• Recognize and report deviation of specific equipment and processes as needed.
• Follow all safety requirements and maintain a safe work environment and reports potential hazards to lead or supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

• Two or more years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Experience with equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting preferred.

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Intermediate math and writing skills required.
• Strive to understand ceramic science principles for materials related to assigned projects and contributes appropriate observations.
• Possess the ability to use the computer system for basic departmental functions.
• Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
• Exhibits effective cooperation and communication skills to effectively work within a team environment.

Position Specific Physical Requirements:

• Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times in work areas.
• May be required to handle hazardous chemicals such as acids and solvents.
• May be required to wear a respirator (a medical evaluation will be required prior to fitting).
• May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.

Target Hiring Range

Hourly: 20.17 - 24.42
