Arthur Grand Technologies is currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Appian Developer for one of our clients.

Appian Developer

Location: Bethesda, MD (Hybrid)

Full Time

Full Stack Appian Application Developer, your primary responsibility will be to develop cutting edge technical solutions according to a defined schedule. You will spend 70-80% of your time developing, collaborating with our business partners and end users and architecting, with the rest of your time directing our outsourced development. This position is hybrid with 2-3 days a week in-person at our Bethesda, Maryland corporate office.

What you'll be doing

• Be the expert for how to architect and deploy both Appian and other information technology solutions.
• Be the lead for assuring HIPAA compliance of all solutions being developed.
• Gather user requirements and distill them into implementable IT solutions.
• Assure requirements are well documented, prioritized in Jira, architected and groomed for efficient development.
• Design data models.
• Integrate with other third-party platforms and develop seamless IT solutions.
• Develop Appian solutions.
• Facilitate making data available to other company users to accelerate business process improvement.
• Oversee production of outsourced development resources.
• Create a rollout schedule of functionality and deliver projects on-time and on budget.
• Research, develop, and implement new tools to speed up and simplify application development.
• Assure all deployments are comprehensively tested before deployment.
• Triage bugs as identified in real time by end users.
• Manage systems capacity utilization to assure appropriate level of investment in Appian and other platforms.
• Ensure all documentation, training, and tooling you develop is up to date, easily accessible and globally reusable.
• Manage relationship with Appian, including contract negotiations, with the assistance of the COO.

What we're looking for in our candidates

• B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics or related field/degree.
• Well-rounded technology professional.
• 5+ years of Appian development experience.
• 5+ years of SQL experience.
• 3 years of Full Stack experience.
• 3+ years of experience in an agile delivery environment.
• Experience implementing identity management (single sign on).
• Proven ability to guide team of developers on most efficient path of development.
• Team player, eager to help others in a positive way.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and talent for identifying creative solutions.
• Preferred: 5+ years of Java development experience, ideally in the context of Appian plugins.
• Preferred: Certifications: Certified ScrumMaster, PMP.
• Preferred: Experience with Appian Portals.
