Caregivers in Martin North Hospital’s 3W Oncology Unit provide exceptional care to patients with cancer and have the opportunity to float to other units. By taking this opportunity as a Clinical Technician, you will join a supportive team that focuses on team building, growth, commerce, and educational opportunities. Management is very supportive of caregivers advancing their careers and taking on leadership positions.  

 

A caregiver in this position works days from 6:00AM – 6:30PM. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN. Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.  

  • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.  

  • Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.  

  • Complete an internal training program within two weeks of the start date.  

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

  • High School Diploma or GED  

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within new hire period 

  • Nursing Students: Basic Life Support (BLS) required prior to hire 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student who has completed at least one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program OR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) OR addition
