About the Data Engineering Team: 

Our team is at the forefront of managing the entire lifecycle of data, from telemetry and event collection to providing data platforms and analytics. We collaborate with various engineering and external teams to build tech solutions that span from data collection to data platform management, utilizing a mix of first-party platforms, third-party analytics products like the Adobe stack, and custom-engineered internal Microsoft tools. 

About the role 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Engineering Team Lead to oversee our Product Management and Development team. This role involves leading a team of data engineers, technical product managers and developers to design, build and maintain robust data pipelines, tools and platforms. Candidates will have a profound background in data pipeline technologies, including big data solutions and telemetry. They will oversee the planning and maintenance of our features, ensuring they generate revenue by aligning strategies from feature planning to telemetry, data pipelines, reporting, and analysis. Driving innovation by leveraging data as a channel for ROI and enhanced customer satisfaction is crucial. 

The role of the Data Engineering Team Lead involves building and managing end-to-end data pipelines, from Telemetry to Reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with key engineering partner teams from Xbox, Stores, and various engineering groups, as well as Marketing Business, Privacy, and External 3rd Party Teams like Adobe.

Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership and Development: 

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers, product managers, and developers. 
• Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture. 
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback. 

2. Product Management: 

• Work closely with stakeholders to define product vision, strategy, and roadmaps. 
• Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business objectives. 
• Conduct market research and analysis to inform product development.
