Job Description

AECOM is looking for a talented Transportation Civil Engineer interested in Project Development and Environment (PD&E). As a transportation engineer, you will be involved with PD&E projects that include transportation conceptual designs, coordinating with regional and local agencies, and public communication.  Florida PD&E studies provide an important development and environmental step in the total transportation development phase from planning through construction.

Responsibilites:

• Builds analytic and design skills.
• Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer
• Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.
• Will interact with local and regional agencies as well as elected and appointed officials both electronically and in-person

Qualifications

Minimum:

• BA/BS Civil Engineer degree or related field
• 2 plus years of relevant experience such as transportation planning, PD&E Studies, roadway design, TSM&O or similar transportation disciplines
• Experience with MicroStation or similar software application tools applied to roadway design

Preferred: 

• Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word
• Experienced in presentation, verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with government projects and processes
• EIT or PE license in the State of Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to complete varied work tasks on schedule
• Experience in writing project reports
• Bi-lingual in Spanish optimal
