Ford is committed to protecting customer privacy as we innovate in connected vehicles, software, and services. As a key leader in our new FIS Data Privacy team, you’ll shape and implement privacy strategies, ensuring compliance while driving transparency and trust. This role partners with Legal, Product, Engineering, and Business teams to embed privacy into Ford’s evolving ecosystem

 

This is a first-of-its-kind team at Ford, giving you the opportunity to define, shape, and lead Ford’s data privacy future. You’ll be at the forefront of ensuring customers own and control their data, building trust in Ford’s mobility services.

What you'll do…

  • Develop & implement privacy strategies that align with Ford’s global data privacy policies and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with Product & Engineering to integrate privacy-by-design principles into digital products and services.
  • Advise business teams on consumer data requests, data minimization, third party risk management and retention strategies.
  • Lead privacy governance & compliance efforts, partnering with Legal, Enterprise Risk, and Cybersecurity teams.
  • Educate & advocate for data transparency, guiding Marketing, CX, and Go-to-Market teams on privacy messaging.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and represent Ford in industry forums to help shape privacy standards.

 

Unique skills you will bring to the position: 

  • Proven expertise in Data Privacy with hands-on experience navigating global privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, EU Data Act), particularly within Connected Vehicle and IoT industries.
  • Privacy risk & impact assessment experience, with a strong understanding of data governance, compliance controls, and risk mitigation.
  • Technical fluency—not necessarily an engineer, but capable of understanding data flows, cloud architecture, and engineering decisions that impact privacy solutions.
  • Clear & impactful communicator—able to break down complex privacy concepts for diverse audiences, from technical teams to executive leadership.
  • Strategic problem-solver with experience driving privacy initiatives across Business, Product, Engineering, Legal, and Internal Controls teams.
  • Deep understanding of consent strategies & privacy-enhancing technologies, particularly in automotive and IoT industries.
  • Proven leadership managing cross-functional teams, securing buy-in from key stakeholders, and delivering results in a matrixed organization.
  • Team-building & talent management experience, ensuring the recruitment, development, and retention of high-performing teams.
  • Adaptability to evolving regulations, quickly integrating new global privacy frameworks into business strategies.
  • Prior experience leading direct reports in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

 

 

You'll have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Law, Computer Science or related field. 
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Privacy - with increasing work complexity and broader impact across areas
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate teams at all levels and foster collaboration in a structured corporate environment
  • Strong business acumen, capable of balancing big-picture strategy with tactical execution
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences
  • Results-driven mindset, with a sense of urgency and accountability to meet commitments
  • Resilience and problem-solving skills, able to navigate setbacks and pivot strategies when needed
