The Area Vice President of Sales leads order bookings growth and customer satisfaction across the Central U.S. This strategic leader develops regional strategies, builds strong customer relationships, and partners with distribution to drive above-market growth with end users and OEMs. Responsibilities include growing the opportunity pipeline, implementing growth programs, forecasting orders, supervising team KPIs, and mentoring the sales team for maximum impact.  This role leads all aspects of a diverse range of Discrete Automation technologies sold through multiple channels to various industries. Success depends on driving product growth, aligning pricing strategies, and optimizing channel performance.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will:

  1. Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive regional business strategy to achieve above-market order growth and margin improvement.
    • Identify and capitalize on market trends, emerging opportunities, and customer needs within the Industrial Automation and Factory Automation markets.
  2. Sales and Business Development:
    • Establish and manage relationships with key accounts, distributors, end users, and OEMs to drive regional order growth.
    • Collaborate with sales & marketing teams to craft and implement effective growth programs, including new product launches.
    • Analyze market data to identify growth opportunities and optimize product positioning.
  3. Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor regional teams, encouraging a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
    • Set performance goals and provide ongoing mentor and feedback.
    • Attract, develop, and retain top talent to support business objectives.
  4. Financial Management:
    • Develop and own the regional budget, ensuring alignment with company financial targets.
    • Supervise financial performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  5. Customer Engagement:
    • Serve as a senior point of contact for key customers, resolving escalations and ensuring long-term satisfaction.
    • Partner with engineering and technical teams to address customer-specific needs and develop tailored solutions.
  6. Market Intelligence and Innovation:
    • Stay informed of industry developments, competitors, and technology advancements.
    • Collaborate with product development teams to influence future offerings based on market needs and customer feedback.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; 
  • Relevant years of experience in industrial automation, manufacturing, or a related sector, with relevant years in a leadership role commensurate with the level of this position.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic problem solver with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM and ERP systems and familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • 10+ years of experience in industrial automation, manufacturing, or a related sector, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven record of driving sales growth and team engagement in a multi-product environment.
  • Solid understanding of valves, actuators, PLCs, and related industrial technologies.
